ブランド名の由来
「TERAI」
1890年以降に流行した防暑帽が日本に入ってきた際、
teraiという名称だった防暑帽を その発音から寺井と漢字をあてて呼んだ、
という帽子の歴史に由来しています。

従来の工業製品のプロセスに、
ひとつひとつをよりしっかり見つめる工芸(craft)のアプローチを取り入れて(ment)
TERAI craftmentとして活動しています。

Terai comes from hats worn for protection against the sun
which is in fashion after 1890.
When the hats are brought to Japan,
its original name was TARAI.

多摩美術大学工芸学科卒業
メーカー勤務を経て、国内アパレルの様々なブランドのOEM･ODM帽子製造に企画営業･職人として関わる。
2014年に日本の製帽技術を活かした帽子ブランド TEARIcraftment を立ち上げ、帽子の企画･製造を行っています。
不定期に吹きガラス器の作家としても活動中。
